The Best Screen Printing Shops in Leeds for Bulk and Rush Orders

Print Quality: This criterion covers print durability, detail, finish, and colour accuracy. We assessed these features primarily by reviewing sample prints. Testimonials and interviews played a part, too.

Customer Service: Our team values professional support, so we went with shops that offer clear communication and an easy ordering process. To verify, customer feedback and direct contact were implemented. Response times were checked as well.

Turnaround Time: By this, we mean fast production that doesn’t disregard quality. Actual customer reviews and interviews heavily influenced our choices, followed by rush order availability and standard production schedules.v

Unsurprisingly, those with a long history of stuffing up deadlines were excluded.

Customisation: If the shop uses different materials, inks, colours, or techniques, you’ll find it here. We sussed this one out by reviewing sample prints and service packages.

Cost Efficiency: The approach we took with this one is ‘price meets quality.’ To get the right entries, we compared quotes across shops, checked sample prints, and inspected for transparency. Those offering discounts received extra marks.

My mates who dabble in clothing brands and advertising materials rarely shut up about screen-printing. Now that I run a business in the same game, I get why they yap about it 24/7.

It’s mad versatile—you can chuck it on almost anything, primarily tees and posters. The sweeter bit is that it won’t burn a hole in your account like digital printing.

But—and there’s always a but—not every shop is up to scratch. Don’t worry, though. We did the graft to save you from disappointment and profit loss—this article only features the best in Leeds.

How much does screen printing cost in the UK?

Generally, screen printing in the UK costs around £3.32 per T-shirt for an order of 100 coloured tees with a three-colour print, totalling £332 (ex VAT).

As for the base price, it’s usually £1.97 per shirt. Printing adds £1.35 per unit.

Costs, however, can vary, mostly depending on order size and print complexity.

1. Total Print Studio

total-print-studio-logo

Address: Unit 16, Byron Street Mills, Millwright St

Operating Hours: Mon to Fri – 10 am to 5 pm

Website

When we were making this list, Total Print Studio kept popping up, and that’s not surprising.

One critical reason is they’re dead flexible. Newbie labels and established designers work with them, hiring them for both small custom batches and bulk runs.

They’re also eco-friendly. You see, the shop uses water-based inks for screen printing, materials that are easier to dispose of and break down quicker than solvent-based ones.

Total Print isn’t perfect, of course. A limit to flag is they’re relatively the newest joint here, opening in 2021.

Also, their screen-printing service is limited to six colours.

The good news is there’s a direct-to-fabric option if you need more than 6 hues. Just keep in mind that this solution is cheaper in small runs but costlier for bulk orders.

Price-wise, they hit Leeds’ standards. The same goes for turnaround time, as they usually finish and deliver the goods in about 5–7 business days.

Pros

  • Competitively priced
  • Works with large and small brands
  • Quick turnaround (5–7 days)
  • Has direct-to-fabric option

Cons

  • Screen printing is limited to six colours
  • Newest shop here (2021)
  • Weekend closure

2. Printshop screen-printing

Address: Unit 6, Swinnow Court, 621 Stanningley Rd

Operating Hours: Mon to Fri – 9 am to 5 pm

Website

If you’re after a well-established name, Printshop is one to consider, as they’ve been grafting since 2011.

Their range and packaging are worthy of a shout. Beyond printing tees, they handle totes, hoodies, vests, and even artwork, with products folded and contained in clear polybags.

What stands out, though, is their hand-pulled approach; each layer of ink is applied by, well, hand, giving a more ‘artisanal’ quality to the products. It’s also easier to control, adaptable design-wise, and eco-friendly.

However, the process is often time-hungry. That’s a deal-breaker for those who need orders to be done fast, say, in a day or two.

Hand-pulling isn’t the most optimal option for large runs either, chiefly due to its higher labour costs when employed on bulk requests. On the upside, it’s mint for small-to-medium runs.

As for turnaround time, they rarely go beyond the usual 5–7-day period.

Additionally, Printshop’s sound staff is quite clued up. Dishing out advice is their forte!

Pros

  • Open since 2011
  • Hand-pulled approach
  • Great for small-medium runs
  • Clean packaging
  • Helpful staff

Cons

  • Time-intensive approach
  • Not optimal for larger runs
  • Weekend closure

3. Screen Machine UK Limited

Address: Metro Storage, 57 Pepper Rd

Contact Details: 0113 873 0615

Operating Hours: Mon to Fri – 8:30 am to 4:30 pm

Website

Founded in 1987, Screen Machine is this list’s longest-running shop, and from what we’ve experienced, the service quality has rarely slipped over the years.

A perk I’ve personally enjoyed is their design support. I’ve given them rough ideas in the past, and their team spruces up the DIY concepts.

The UK-wide and often on-schedule delivery is another pro. In my experience, prints are delivered in just 5 days, sometimes 7.

On top of that, the shop is large enough to manage bulk orders. In fact, they’re a favourite of sports clubs and schools that need large runs of bespoke sportswear or school leavers.

Most of their clients also stay, like our interviewees, who’ve been sticking with Screen Machine for 7+ years.

That brings us to one negative, which is that you have to be quick to nab a spot, given the shop’s popularity.

Moreover, don’t expect regular discounts, as they’re uncommon here. Good news is the usual rates are decent.

Pros

  • Founded in 1987
  • Favoured by sports clubs and schools
  • Justified prices
  • Offers design support
  • High client retention rate

Cons

  • High demand (can get fully booked)
  • Rare discounts
  • Weekend closure

Always a Pleasure

‘Tony has done our work wear, promotional tee shirts and much much more over the past 30+ years, I wouldn’t use anyone else, always a pleasure and the highest quality and service. 100% recommended’

– Carl Whitehead, Google Review

Quick and Responsive

‘Fantastic company which went above and beyond to deliver Year 6 leavers hoodies at a great price. The children loved them. They loved they could pick from a wide range of colours and could have them personalised on the front. Thank you again for a quick and responsive service. We will be using them next year!’

– Rachel Christie, Google Review

4. PECO

peco-logo

Address: Unit 12R, Springfield Commercial Centre Bagley Lane, Farsley, Pudsey

Contact Details: 0113 236 3463

Operating Hours:

  • Mon to Thu – 9 am to 5 pm
  • Fri – 8 am to 4 pm

Website

Most of PECO’s clients have been with them for a long time—we’re talking 10+ years. That’s a pretty solid stamp of approval, putting their 20+ years of experience in a more positive light.

Their defining characteristic, though, is being a ‘full embroidery and in-house’ company. In other words, products and services aren’t outsourced, keeping things steady and quality-controlled.

That’s quite convenient for clients. One advantage, for example, is that you don’t have to hire a graphic designer—PECO will sort that for you.

Prices are often on the cheaper side, too. After all, there’s no need to pay third-party fees.

Of course, there’s a drawback. For one, they’re shut on weekends, which can be a pain if the only time you’re free for a Pudsey trip is on a Sunday or Saturday.

A few customers have also mentioned deliveries that went beyond the max 7-day mark.

Pros

  • Very high client retention rate (10+)
  • In-house approach
  • Free quotes
  • Impartial advice
  • 20+ years of experience

Cons

  • Weekend closure
  • History of late delivery

5. Deep Ape

deep-ape-logo

Address: 1 Parkland Ave, Bruntcliffe Rd, Morley

Contact Details: 0113 276 0727

Operating Hours: Mon to Sat- 9 am to 6 pm

Website

Deep Ape adds some oomph to custom hoodie, hat, and t-shirt printing. We’re talking about offerings like oversized prints, vintage cracking, and puff effects that most entries here don’t dabble with.

Their colour flexibility is another major asset. You can always ask for a specific Pantone shade (or shades)—all for an extra cost, naturally.

Don’t stress too much, though, as Deep Ape’s prices are normally fair and square. We hired them to print 20 shirts, and our team just paid £4 for the first print, £3.50 for the second, and £3.50 for the third (for every shirt).

The issue here is that the damage might be steep if you’re only after orders under 20 shirts. You can’t hire them for tote bag prints, either, unlike most spots here.

On the bright side, the timeline is often honoured. The orders arrived within the promised period of 5–7 days in our case.

Pros

  • Can handle any Pantone shade
  • Operating since 2020
  • Open on Saturdays
  • Decent prices for 20+ orders
  • Does oversized, vintage, and puffed prints

Cons

  • Doesn’t screen-print tote bags
  • Steep prices for orders under 20 shirts

The best quality one I’ve had done by far

I’ve had a few t-shirts made up the last few years of my kids and family members and I’ve used most of the print shops in the surrounding Leeds area, but Deep Ape is the only one I’ve left a review for. The best quality one I’ve had done by far and I’ll definitely use him again. Great communication throughout and a quick turnaround. Highly recommended
