The Best Naturopaths in Leeds Who Can Get to the Root of Your Problem

Education and Certification. We made sure that all naturopaths we recommend took up a university course that’s recognised by the General Council and Register of Naturopaths (GCRN).

After obtaining their degree, the naturopaths should join an accredited register managed by the Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council (CNHC). It would also be great if they joined the GCRN and the Association of Naturopathic Practitioners.

Experience. We prefer naturopaths who have at least five years of experience in this field. This way, they would’ve had ample time to encounter a diverse array of clients and situations.

Variety of Services. Naturopathy has all sorts of treatments, so ideally, the clinic’s catalogue should reflect that. In addition to herbal medicine, we prefer naturopaths who also offer massages, acupuncture, nutritional counselling, and more.

Pricing. As much as possible, the naturopath’s rates shouldn’t exceed £120 (for initial consultations) and £80 (for subsequent consultations).

All my life, I’ve been experiencing all sorts of random pain, usually in my gut and muscles. I, of course, got myself checked, and I’ve even tried treatments like physiotherapy and consulted gastroenterologists.

But the pain is still there, and one day, I finally decided to give naturopathy a try. Who knew herbal medicine and treatments like acupuncture would make a difference? I certainly didn’t.

Interested in trying naturopathy as well? Here are the best naturopaths in Leeds you should check out.

However, do remember that though naturopathy can be helpful for chronic issues, it’s not intended to be a replacement for urgent care or treatments for serious conditions.

How much does a naturopath cost in Leeds?

The cost of consulting a naturopath in Leeds is usually around £120. This is for the initial consultation; subsequent consultations tend to be cheaper, typically ranging between £70 and £80.

Naturoterapia

Address: 1 Barran Ct, Harehills

Operating Hours: Open 24 hours

Website

Naturoterapia is my go-to naturopathy clinic here in Leeds. This clinic is best-suited for people suffering from diabetes, obesity, fatty liver, bone and joint problems, and cardiovascular diseases.

What I like most about this clinic is the variety of treatments available. I’ve personally tried their herbal medicine and Chinese medicine services, but you can also try other treatments like respiratory therapy, aromatherapy, ayurveda, and meditation.

The prices here are affordable, too, which is fantastic news. A one-hour consultation costs you about £100, but if you want a cheaper alternative, you can have the 30-minute consultation, which is priced at £60.

The only downside to this clinic is that the practitioner only speaks Polish. He does have a professional electronic translator, allowing him to communicate with his clients no matter what, but there’s still a potential for miscommunication there.

Still, if you want to give this clinic a shot, you can have an initial consultation via email first. This doesn’t cost you anything, so feel free to ask as many questions as possible.

Pros

  • Wide variety of treatments
  • Deals with many ailments like diabetes
  • Affordable rates
  • Free email consultation

Cons

  • Practitioner only speaks Polish

Helpful advice

For as long as I can remember, I’ve had problems with high blood pressure. When I started following Roman’s recommendations, the problem completely disappeared after a few months. A healthy lifestyle, dietary changes, and vitamins and minerals helped me regain my health. I’m glad I found him. I recommend him.”

Amazing recommendations

I’d been struggling with high cholesterol and triglyceride levels for a long time. I followed the recommendations my naturopath gave me, and after three months, my blood tests were perfect. The problems disappeared completely.

Website

Halo Clinic Acupuncture and Naturopathy is located all the way in Wetherby, but it’s only a 35-minute drive away from Leeds, which isn’t bad, if you ask me. So, it’s still worth checking out, especially if you’re looking for acupuncture and reflexology services.

What makes this clinic stand out is that they actually offer pediatric acupuncture. The practitioners here are pretty good at handling children. One client said that her son was scared of needles, but the practitioner made sure to calm him down before continuing with the procedure.

In addition to acupuncture and reflexology, this clinic offers bio-resonance (uses light wave resonance for physical examination and analysis) and Chinese medicinal nutrition. Because of the wide variety of treatments, I’m not surprised clients love coming here.

Another reason that people love this clinic is the practitioners’ compassion. One client shared that she had two consecutive miscarriages, and her practitioner treated her with such empathy and understanding.

Pros

  • Wide array of services
  • Offers pediatric acupuncture as well
  • Great at dealing with kids
  • Compassionate practitioners

Cons

  • Not based in Leeds

Lovely and patient practitioner

Thank you, Lindsay, for a wonderful and very helpful treatment! Lindsay takes her time to ask you all around your problems, health and personal circumstances. The acupuncture was very helpful for my anxieties and back pain. But she gave me a lot handy tips for my everyday life and explained how the energy in the body is working. She is a very lovely and patient person and you feel that you are in good hands. Can’t rate her highly enough.”

Extremely detailed service

I saw Lindsay for a bio-resonance health scan. Lindsay is very professional, friendly & enthusiastic about supporting others. The report she provided me with was extremely detailed and has helped to inform my direction moving forwards to better health. I would urge anyone to go for bio-resonance specifically if they want further clarity about their health, and I cannot recommend Lindsay at Halo Clinic highly enough!

Atul Shah B. Pharm is another naturopathic practitioner who isn’t based in Leeds. In fact, his office is in York, which is nearly an hour away!

But he’s a highly recommended practitioner in Yorkshire, and I can see why. For one thing, he’s been offering his services since 1989, and for another, his clientele is diverse, ranging from children to adults!

Oh, and the rates here are amazing! Consultations are between £95 and £110, and if you book any of his treatments (e.g., massage, ear syringing, and hydrotherapy), the pricing is between £50 and £60.

That said, do keep in mind that these rates get pricier if you book a slot past 5 pm. The increase isn’t by much (usually just £5 more), but it’s still worth noting.

Clients also love Atul Shah himself. One client said that he’s clearly passionate about his work and wants the best for his patients. The client’s medical condition had her experiencing multiple seizures in a month, but after working with Atul, she rarely has them now.

Pros

  • Operating since 1989
  • Diverse clientele (kids, teenagers, and adults)
  • Affordable rates
  • Wide array of services
  • Passionate and invested practitioner

Cons

  • Not based in Leeds
  • Rates get more expensive when you book a slot past 5 pm

Personalized care

Atul Shah integrates physiotherapy with naturopathic principles, focusing on non-invasive techniques that promote natural healing. His treatment protocols emphasize personalized care, addressing not only the physical symptoms but also the emotional and psychological well-being of patients. I had really good massage sessions with him here in India. Looking forward to his continued guidance for overall well-being.

Considerate approach

I visited the Nature Cure Centre and had the opportunity to consult with Atul Shah. After reviewing my reports, to my surprise he pointed out that it might be linked to vaccine side effects, something no one had considered before (I had consulted many MD physicians before). Following his simple yet effective course… Within a short time my joint pains which had been bothering me for a while, disappeared completely. I’m genuinely impressed by his deep understanding and practical approach to healing. And that’s not all, he took the time to address my emotions and how they might have contributed to my condition, this considerate approach truly sets him apart. His holistic understanding of health is truly commendable.”

Otley Natural Health Clinic doesn’t boast a wide array of treatments: just services in natural nutrition, detoxification, allergy elimination, and colonic hydrotherapy. If you’re looking for other certain treatments like acupuncture and massages, you’re better off somewhere else.

Still, this is a great place for your naturopathic needs, especially if you’re seeking to improve your gut health, in particular.

Liz Cunningham, the practitioner here, gets all the praise from her clients for her knowledge and expertise. She always manages to explain things in a way that people understand, which her clients (who are usually frustrated about their health problems) appreciate.

She’s also compassionate and discreet, which puts clients at ease.

The pricing is another reason why people recommend this clinic. First consultations are usually around £110, and these already include the treatment. If you need more treatments in the future, you’ll only have to pay £75.

Pros

  • Specialises in improving gut health
  • Knowledgeable practitioner
  • Compassionate and discreet
  • Affordable pricing

Cons

  • Limited array of services (no acupuncture or massages)

Knowledgeable practitioner

What a lovely, knowledgeable lady! Had a wonderful (non-embarrassing) experience with Liz and the hydro colonic treatment. I am writing this review the morning after the treatment and I can honestly say that I feel as if my old batteries have been taken out and replaced with new, super-powered batteries. Slept like a baby and I am now super motivated to eat clean and drink more water. Thank you Liz for sharing your knowledge and your expertise.

Discreet and professional

Liz is a fountain of knowledge. I’ve struggled with my gut issues for over 20 years and it’s only since seeing Liz that has changed. Finally, I am getting the help and the answers that I’ve needed for so long. I could pick her brains for hours. Very discreet and professional. Highly recommend!

Valery Martino is another naturopath with a clear specialisation: gut health. In particular, she can help you with all sorts of conditions related to the digestive tract, such as constipation, gastritis, and GERD.

However, since she has a speciality, her list of treatments is pretty limited. So, if your issue is something else, then this is not the clinic for you.

One thing I like about this clinic is that Valery Martino combines naturopathy with modern medical knowledge. That’s why she will ask you to take tests like stool analysis and the SIBO breath tests before she comes up with a treatment plan for you.

The practitioner also takes a personalised and holistic approach to healing. She won’t just fix the symptoms; she’ll also try to get to the root of the issue.

A perfect example is this client who suffered from SIBO, which gave her an eating disorder as well. Her treatment plan wasn’t just to fix her SIBO, but it was also to help her fix her relationship with food. The client greatly appreciated this gesture.

The prices here are high, though; consultations start at £185! Fortunately, you can book a free consultation before you commit.

Pros

  • Specialises in gut health
  • Combines naturopathy with modern medical knowledge
  • Personalised and holistic approach
  • Free consultation available

Cons

  • Limited array of services (no acupuncture and massages)
  • Expensive

Thank you so much for helping me with my stomach issues. You have helped me significantly with settling the ongoing SIBO, which I had been suffering with for years. You’ve changed my life – thank you.”
