Greener Gardens is one of those newer outfits that I’ve come across when looking into local landscaping services. They cover Leeds and the nearby towns, offering services like fencing, decking, and turfing.
What I liked is that they give free quotes without any pressure, so it’s easier to weigh options before spending anything.
It’s also worth mentioning that they’ve teamed up with Palmer’s Plants, so the greenery they use tends to be good quality and well-sourced. They’re also licensed waste carriers, which means when they clear up after a job, you know it’s handled properly.
On the flip side, their prices are slightly higher than some of the other local companies, and being fairly new, they don’t have a long track record yet.

First Light Landscaping has been part of the Leeds scene for over 15 years and has built a strong reputation. They became even more well-known after winning the Principal Award at the BALI National Landscape Awards 2022 for a project in Roundhay.
They handle both design and construction, but what really stood out to me are their design packages. These give you access to most of their services at a set price, and some even include the option of designing two gardens for the price of one!
You can get started with a free consultation, though it’s only done over the phone. That can be disappointing for folks who are expecting a thorough assessment of their properties.
This company is also unavailable on weekends, which makes scheduling a bit tricky if you’re busy during the week.

I went with RightScapes when I realised how much they could actually bring to the table. Their designers know their stuff and can work with most garden styles, like modern, Japanese, and wildlife-friendly.
The options felt a bit much at first, so the free consultation helped me narrow things down. I settled on a cottage-style space because it felt homely, and the 3D CAD render they showed me later confirmed I had made the right call.
What impressed me most was how they added sustainable features into the design. My garden now has rainwater harvesters and drought-tolerant plants! They also gave me a 10-year guarantee on the hard landscaping.
The only drawbacks are their smaller portfolio and the fact that they only cover Leeds and Harrogate. Nearby towns like Morley and Tingley aren’t included.

Another landscaping company I genuinely recommend is Austin’s Gardens. They’ve been around for a good while and even picked up the Gold Award for Professional Gardens at the Harrogate Flower Show back in spring 2017!
A big part of their success comes down to Richard Austin, the director. He’s a qualified garden designer and trained plantsman with the Royal Horticultural Society, so the expertise is clear.
That background explains why they can offer such comprehensive horticulture services. If you want to bring in rare or striking plants, they’re well placed to help.
Since those plants often need extra care, it’s handy that they also provide regular garden maintenance. You can get a feel for everything they offer through a free initial meeting and consultation.
However, they have limited weekend availability. Also, some of their construction work is subcontracted, which can affect quality consistency.

Landscape Gardeners Leeds has been knocking for over 25 years, which is a fair stretch in this line of work. From what I’ve seen, they cover a lot of ground!
They’ll sort out soil conditioning if your garden is looking tired and handle tree surgery when branches get out of hand. They’re also decent with patios, paving, turfing, and fencing.
The free site visit is a nice touch because you get a proper look at what’s possible without paying upfront. I also like that you only pay once the job is done, which feels fairer than handing over cash before you’ve seen any results.
That said, they’re not perfect. Some people have mentioned they sometimes don’t reply to enquiries, and I’ve heard of appointments being missed.
When they do show up, the work tends to be solid, but you might need patience with the communication side.
