Blast your mates with photons at the best laser tag venues in Leeds!
Not going to lie; when laser tag first landed in Leeds, we weren’t really queuing up to join the craze. Most of us thought we were well past the age of running around like Star Wars characters, zapping each other with toy lasers.
Then we gave it a go and instantly ate our words. Turns out, it’s a fast-paced, adrenaline-charged game where both pros and youngbloods have a blast playing.
Safe to say, we’re still hooked, and the venues below are a big reason why.
LaserZone
– From mason.karl
Address: Cardigan Fields Road
Contact Details: 0113 279 0000
Operating Hours:
- Mon to Fri – 12 pm to 9:30 pm
- Sat to Sun – 10 am to 9:30 pm
LaserZone gave us the laser tag bug, and we’re not miffed about it at all. This futuristic spot just nails the immersion aspect of the hobby—think strobes flashing, smoke thickening, and shots zapping nonstop.
It’s their mission system that really sold us, though. There are no overcomplicated rules; just tag the target and blast the enemy’s base—all for a bargain at £8.50 to £8.75 a game.
The kits aren’t shabby, too, as LaserZone gears up shooters with Helios packs. They’re durable, dead-comfy, and superbly accurate, so that mate with a Stormtrooper’s aim won’t be able to blame dodgy sensors.
Tips:
- You can drive to get here. The site offers plenty of parking spaces.
- Make sure to arrive 10 minutes before your start time, and if you want to book a birthday party, do it at least 7 days in advance.
- Wear dark clothes. White clothing will make you an easy target.
- They throw SEND sessions here. Familiarise yourself with the dates.
- Head to their parties page to see current codes that can get you free games.
Laser Force and iCombat Leeds
– From icombatleeds
Address: 164 Armley Rd, Armley
Contact Details: 0330 043 8684
Operating Hours:
- Mon to Thu – 12 pm to 9 pm
- Fri – 12 pm to 10:30 pm
- Sat – 10:30 am to 12 am
- Sun – 10:30 am to 10:30 pm
The immersion provided by Laser Force and iCombat was off the charts. None of those plastic-like guns here, just heavy-duty phasers with actual recoil and vibrations, all for that glorious dose of realism.
That was all down to their sick Gen 7 system, which armed us with lightweight vests and two-hand detection tech.
Even the visual display and audio were next-level. We battled it out, guns and gear lit up by full-colour LEDs, while surrounded by real-time sound effects and digital speech.
All props to the 3-level arena as well. It looked and felt like a true war-torn city from a grim future, with all the gnarly art and neon lights around.
The sweetest bit? A 20-minute game just set us back £7.95!
Tips:
- They can host team buildings and birthday parties.
- You’ll find deals posted on their Instagram.
Yorkshire Outdoor Activity Park
– From yorkshireoutdooractivitypark
Address: Escrick Park Estate, Skipwith
Contact Details: 01757 289322
Operating Hours: Daily – 9 am to 5 pm
Yorkshire Outdoor Activity Park has been a paintball institution since 1988, so we rocked up thinking we’d just be skirmishing via paintballs all day. We were wrong.
The entire trip was spent laser tagging, just not as we knew it. There were no neon-lit domes or Tron-style cities, as our warzone was an outdoor, woodland setting, complete with camo coveralls and the world’s biggest paintball bridge.
Laser-wise, there were no zaps. Our guns fired invisible beams, and hits were recorded through sensors and a central app. The team with the most registered points won and returned home with bragging rights.
As for the prices, we paid £25 a pop for a 90-minute game. What a bargain!
Tips:
- Make sure to gather at least 10 players.
- You don’t have to pack food. They have an on-site cafe.
- Check out their shop. It’s full of sports, camping, and ‘shooting’ goodies.
Go Karting Leeds
– From gtkartingleeds
Address: Hudson Rd, Harehills
Contact Details: 0113 345 5545
No, Go Karting Leeds isn’t solely for becoming Lewis Hamilton for a day. Beyond its 100-metre flyover and 20-metre track, there’s a laser tag arena here, creatively named Laser Tag Leeds.
It’s as classic as it gets. For 15 frantic minutes, you’ll compete in a dark room brought to life by fog, music, and, of course, laser fire.
There are no vests, though—only gun-to-gun action. Your weapon earns a point every time you hit someone, but the twist is that each hit you receive knocks those points away.
On top of that, there are tons of game modes to play. You have the standard team battles, but there’s also solo target-shooting, a vampire-themed round, and even a battle royale setup, which is ace if you want to bring those Fortnite skills IRL.
