Liquid courage meets bangers at the best karaoke bars in Leeds!

As much as I hate to admit it, even auto-tune can’t fix my banshee-ish vocals. But throw me a mic and a few sips of liquid courage, and I’ll be up on a podium rocking out some Queen like I’m Freddie on Live Aid.

That’s the beauty of karaoke bars, luv. They don’t care if you sing like an angel or a busted kazoo, only how well you can have fun through the gift of music.

We reckon you deserve that same rockstar moment, so we scouted the best joints to do so in Leeds. As a bonus, most entries have quality sips—because you just can’t name a more iconic duo than bangers and beer.

Gaming and feasting at Carousel have been in these days. And while the same rage still sweeps over us, those 8-person karaoke booths are usually why we’re here.

For one, they only cost £30–£40 for 90 minutes of belting, and we never had to ‘sing-screech’ with randos, as the rooms are private. As if that’s not enough, there are 80,000 tracks to own—era and genre-spanning, of course.

Carousel also knows their way around a good cocktail. The gin-heavy and apple-tinged Tropic Like It’s Hot is our crew’s go-to sip, but you can always experiment with the 15+ alternatives, including one that mixes matcha with vodka.

Tip: If, like Frank Sinatra, you’d rather do things your way, book a private event.

Viaduct Showbar

  • Mon to Wed – 1 pm to 2 am
  • Thu – 1 pm to 3 am
  • Fri to Sat – 1 pm to 3 am
  • Sun – 1 pm to 1 am

Website

As one of the country’s most dazzling cabaret spots, Viaduct Showbar does things grand. That same glitz and character spill right into their free-entry karaoke nights.

Come Tuesdays, drag royalty Marie La Rae takes the mic, running a setlist with hits belted out by previous generations and current ones. A small tourney amplifies the energy, with winners nabbing £30—that, and bragging rights.

Booze gets cut down to £2.50 a pop as well until 10 pm, excluding prosecco and champagne.

Tip: Up the ante by attending their other special events.

Our vocals are ropy at best, but that’s not a concern at BOX. There’s no earwigging with their private rooms, all made a ripper by their massive track library, which even includes themed songs by the hundreds.

Normally, our pipes get their workout in The Strong Room. It fits 6 to 20 heads, giving it a glowing reputation among smaller crews.

If your group is larger and in need of a bartender, there’s The Vault. The private space can host up to 40 singers.

Tip: Grab a £15 voucher on your birthday by signing up on their database.

Every room is soundproofed, and you even get 2 mics for a duet with your mate while seated on cosy benches.

As icing on the cake, there’s no need to leg it to the bar for their signature martinis and pizza. Just scan the QR codes on the table!

Tip: Off-peak hours (Sun – Wed) are cheaper.

K-Cube

From kcubeleeds

Address: The Merrion Centre, 82 Merrion St

Contact Details: 0113 322 6625

Operating Hours: Daily – 8 am to 4 am

Website

K-Cube amplifies karaoke to premium levels. Dripping in neon lights and velvety seating, it’s a joint where every quid is worth it, especially if you love pairing bops with spirits or champagne.

Track-wise, you’ll get both classics and fresh hits. Being able to sing them in 8 languages is a solid perk.

For the rooms, you have 6 choices. They can accommodate 6 to 20 people and will set each person back £10 (Sun to Thu) or £12 (Friday to Sat) an hour.

Tip: Bring your kids. They can sing their hearts out via the kids’ package.

House of Fu

Contact Details: 0113 234 6907

Operating Hours:

  • Mon to Thu – 11:30 am to 8 pm
  • Fri to Sat – 11:30 am to 9:30 pm
  • Sun – 11:30 am to 8 pm

Website

Started by the same legends who brought Headrow House and Belgrave Music Hall to life, House of Fun was destined for success. On our trip, the gang was straight in, singing classics and new bangers while cleaning £10 ramen bowls.

Their karaoke rooms get style points as well, thanks to the digs’ 70s-inspired aesthetics. Prices aren’t robberies either; a smaller 9-man space cost us £50 an hour, while larger, 26-person booths cost £100 for the same period.

That said, no one gets better deals than students, chiefly on Wednesdays. Uni kids get half-priced cocktails, £4 pints, and, the cherry on top, free karaoke sessions.

Tip: Deals like free ramen and half-priced margaritas are all posted on their Insta.

Three Legs

  • Tue – 10:30 am to 11:30 pm
  • Wed – 10:30 am to 12:30 am

  • Fri to Sat – 10 am to 12 am

Walk past Three Legs on any given night, and you’re bound to hear two things: punters hitting both right and wrong notes and the crowd cheering them on. That’s the usual energy right here.

Leave your embarrassment at the door, step up, and sing your heart out! Customers sing in front of a boozed-up crowd—and there are no private booths.

On the upside, the pours are decently priced compared to other city pubs. And while it can get too upbeat, the atmosphere generally remains warm, especially when the dance floor opens.

Tip: This place gets especially packed on Fridays and Saturdays. Pick another time to rock by if you hate lining up or waiting for a turn at the mic.

Psilo Bar

From psilobar

Address: Grand Arcade, 52 New Briggate

Contact Details: 0113 403 4402

Operating Hours:

  • Mon to Fri – 4 pm to 1 am
  • Sat – 1 pm to 3 am
  • Sun – 4 pm to 1 am

Website

The previous entry might not be somewhere you’d take your gran. Psilo Bar is the opposite. Karaoke mellows down in this intimate 10-person joint, with old-school wallpaper and soft fairy lights making things feel laid-back.

Even better, it’s a proper bargain at £25 an hour for the whole gang, not for a single person. That leaves more cash for their reimagined old-school tipples, such as Chilean Margaritas and the aptly-named ‘Banacolada.’

You don’t have to sing on an empty stomach, either. Their £29.50 (per person) charcuterie board can energise those pipes through Iberico chorizo or vegan cured ‘meats.’

Tip: Sweeten your trip by joining a bourbon or cocktail masterclass.

Merchant Leeds

From themerchantleeds_official

Address: The Merrion Centre, 20-24 Woodhouse Ln

Contact Details: 0113 244 1212

Operating Hours:

  • Mon to Thu – 10 am to 11 pm
  • Fri to Sat – 10 am to 2 am
  • Sun – 10 am to 11 pm

Website

When we say Merchant is a ‘casual bar,’ we say it in the best way possible. Truly, it’s a haunt where all sorts of folks can unwind, normally by downing Brit gastropub fare and ageless bevvies like a Pornstar Martini.

Come Friday nights, though, the place turns up. DJ-spun karaoke shindigs bring the hype via live music and a turn-taking system. That means every brave soul gets a shot at momentary stardom.

There’s also no need to rush; the event runs from 8 pm to 2 am, with late-night discos awaiting those who stay!

Tip: Get the MiXR app to grab deals like free drinks.

Tenpin Leeds

From needs_inleeds

Address: 13 Merrion Way

Contact Details: 0333 038 6565

Operating Hours:

  • Mon to Thu – 10 am to 12 am
  • Fri to Sat – 10 am to 1 am
  • Sun – 10 am to 11 pm

Website

You’re missing out if you think Tenpin ends and starts with bowling. Their private karaoke rooms, which just opened in April 2025, are fantastic for resets.

Indoors, up to 10 singers can let loose amid neon lights and opulent cushions, though the true scores are in the ‘Popstar’ and ‘Rockstar’ packages, both priced at £12 per person and last 90 minutes.

The ‘Popstar’ deal is for younger crowds, so it naturally features age-appropriate drinks. On the flipside, ‘Rockstar’ is designed for grown-ups who like to wash down pizza with prosecco while singing their lungs out.

Tip: Enjoy 25% off food and bowling by visiting on a Friday.
