The Best Shuffleboard Spots in Leeds for a Night of Pints and Proper Play

We don’t know about you, but our team considers shuffleboarding the ultimate pub game. It’s competitive enough to get the blood pumping but not so full-on you can’t sip a pint between turns. Plus, there’s no risk of some dodgy dart hitting your hand!

If you think it’s bollocks, give the game a go. There are a few fair places in town, and they all promise two things: cracking pints and a good time!

Boom Battle Bar Leeds takes shuffleboard to the next level. With posh Canadian sugar maple boards and a neon-lit atmosphere packed with sound and life, it’s the kind of place where the fun never turns stale.

And no, it won’t break the bank—just £15 for half an hour or £25 for a full hour of shuffling. As for drinks, there are also plenty of affordable sips to go around, from pints or pitchers of beer to cocktail (cocktail bars leeds) jugs.

Tip: Pop by between 4 pm and 7 pm from Monday to Thursday for happy hour bargains, like 2-for-1 cocktails.

Roxy Ball Room Leeds Merrion Street

This won’t be the last time you’ll see the Roxy Ball Room here. They tick the atmosphere and bev boxes, with slick tunes and laid-back lightwork giving those 2-for-£15 cocktails and £3.50 pints that extra oomph.

Even better, you have two shuffleboard options to choose from: traditional and bank shot. Traditional is all about directly landing pucks in scoring zones, while bank shot brings the table’s sides into play—tricky but perfect if you’re into that kind of faff.

Tip: Got a massive gang in tow? Sort yourselves with the party packages.

Electric Shuffle Leeds gave us the shuffleboarding bug. The games we played here were an absolute doddle, thanks to their fancy camera tech that clocked every puck’s position for bang-on scoring—no cheeky moves allowed.

Each table is also kitted out with videos that walked our team through the rules, so even clueless muppets like us caught on quickly. Not that the game is hard to learn—especially with a zingy and fruity Paradise Paloma cocktail in hand providing patience fuel.

Tip: Make sure you book ahead. They do take walk-ins, but there’s no promise you’ll get a crack at the shuffleboard.

Told you the Roxy Ball Room would be back. The Boar Lane spot brings the same mellow vibes, lip-smacking scran, and buzzing sips as the Merrion Street venue, but the shuffleboard setup? That’s where this one shakes things up.

Here, you’ll slide into tech shuffle with Curling, Conquer, and Shufl as the game modes. Curling is about precisely hitting targets, Conquer focuses on owning zones, and Shufl is your classic, aim-for-the-big-points game but with a techy twist.

Tip: Christmas is just around the corner, and Roxy Ball Room Leeds Boar Lane is gearing up with festive bashes. Have a gander at what’s on the cards.

When we’re after top-shelf pours, live bops, and, of course, classic shuffleboard, The Head of Steam is our go-to. No knotty games here—just slide your pucks, aim for the points, dodge the penalties—shuffleboard fun in its simplest form.

Best bit? Not a naff pint in sight, with over twenty, primo UK-crafted drinks to choose from. Our favourite pick is the French Martini—a sour, fruity draught with that iconic Parisian cocktail kick to round things off.

Tip: They have loads of party packages on offer. Check them out and pick the one that’s spot-on for your crew.

Website

The no-nonsense BrewDog is more than just an old-world spot for Scottish craft beers, fiery wings (chicken wings leeds), and nostalgia-inducing arcade games. But the cherry on top? Shuffleboarding here is a bang for your buck.

Three whopping 22 ft boards mean you’re not short on space, though we still recommend booking. Best of all, they’re down in the cellar, so the setup is more low-key…until the games get intense.

Tip: Don’t forget your student ID to make the most of their daily 25% off food and drinks.

Roxy Lanes Leeds The Light

  • Fri – 12 pm to 2 am
  • Sat – 11 am to 2 am

Website

Roxy Lanes is part of the Roxy Ball Room empire, but it has a little extra sauce with its ten-pin bowling lane—ideal for a warm-up or cool-down before or after your shuffleboard sesh.

Speaking of shuffleboard, they keep it classic—none of the fancy variants from Boar Lane. Games are still a blast, though, especially when you play while sipping on the Roxy signature Twist’ My Melon, a strawberry-infused cocktail with a fizzy pop of prosecco.

Tip: Dress to impress; joggers or football shirts aren’t allowed here. If you’re unsure what to wear, just give them a ring.

Carousel Leeds

  • Wed – 12 pm to 3 am

  • Sat – 11 am to 1 am
  • Sun – 12 pm to 1 am

Website

Carousel is a superclub that’s one of this list’s chicest and largest. They also have that creative edge, with over 20 unique cocktails, like Tropic Like It’s Hot, an absolute belter with botanical and tart notes.

The shuffleboard side follows the same innovative philosophy, offering the bank shot version. The twist? You must bounce your pucks off the side walls instead of just sliding them down the lane, adding a bit of spice and difficulty to the game.

Tip: Playing from Sunday to Thursday will save you a fiver compared to the weekend rates on Friday and Saturday.

DBlack Cat Club

Looking for shuffleboard at a place that’s a mash-up of a sports bar, music hall, and gaming pub? Ah, it’s Black Cat Club you’re seeking, a fresh face with zero tacky nonsense.

We completely lost track of time here, and we’re putting the blame squarely on the fantastic Curling, Conquer, and Shufl modes.

‘Fantastic’ also best describes their Tartan Tipple. It’s a punchy juniper-forward drink that’s smooth but definitely not lightweight.

Tip: Fancy making it all about the games? Pre-order your goodies by calling, but remember to give them at least 24 hours’ notice.
