The Best French Doors in Leeds to Add Flair to Your Home!

Experience: Suppliers with at least 10 years in the industry were selected, with their tenure validated using business histories and LinkedIn profiles.

Portfolios and testimonials were also checked to ensure a minimum of 10 completed projects across different property types.

Eco-Friendliness: Using direct messages, we reviewed how sustainable each candidate is. FSC certifications and policy statements mattered most, followed by product specs.

Product and Service Range: The team visited physical stores and browsed through online catalogues to see how broad the selections are, prioritising entries with at least three types of French doors (e.g. wood, glass, metal, sliding, internal, and external).

Other than that, we called and chatted with past clients to see which ones offer extras such as installation and delivery services.

Custom Service: To gauge professionalism and product knowledge, interviews, direct contact, and feedback were used. Aftercare, clarity of explanations, and response efficiency mattered as well.

Pricing: We kept product (and installation) pricing within the UK’s averages, using quotes as reference points. Naturally, clear breakdowns, discounts, special deals, and overall quality were considered.

No pun intended, but I’ve been properly glazing over French doors lately. There’s just something timeless about those double openings and glass panels running from top to bottom.

And it’s not all sparkle either. Beyond the looks, they stay secure thanks to the toughened glass and rarely break the bank because of the simple design.

The downside is when they’re installed badly. Hire the wrong company, and you’ll have a dreadful time keeping heat during winter or dealing with space hogging woes.

You can close your doors on such troubles. I’ve worked with Leeds’ top suppliers for my mum’s patio before, so I know which teams can truly unlock your space’s full potential.

How much do French doors cost in the UK?

In the UK, the cost of French doors often depends on the material and size, with premium white uPVC ones priced roughly from £684 (1,200 mm) to £957 (1,800 mm) and standard aluminium doors falling between £1,200 and £2,000.
In terms of labour costs, expect to pay between £750 and £1,400 for 1,200 x2,100 mm, 1,500 x 2,100 mm, and 1,800 x2,100 mm doors.

Yorkshire’s weather has nothing on Hipco’s French doors. Clients bang on about them lasting for years, and there’s a 10-year insurance to keep you confident.

Customisation is another strong point. You can add glazing options or security upgrades, with tons of hardware finishes like brushed steel or antique brass.

Colour-wise, it’s your call. Just pick shades from the RAL system to tie the final look to your personality or the home’s.

One problem, however, is the stacked workload. Given Hipco’s quality and 20-year tenure, homeowners book them regularly.

And it might just be me, but some occasional deals would be nice.

Not that the regular pricing is posh. For Leeds, it’s quite competitive, especially if you factor in the quick and tidy installation (post-fitting clean-up is part of the deal).

We can’t forget about the solid comms department either. Even on the holidays, their reps typically answer fast and provide updates.

Pros

  • Open for over 20 years
  • Strong customisation
  • 10-year insurance guarantee
  • Open on Saturdays
  • Has a big showroom

Cons

  • High demand
  • Lack of seasonal deals

Very Skilled

We were so pleased to have chosen Hipco to replace our old conservatory roof with a solid one. The workmen were punctual, hard working and very skilled and cleaned up afterwards. We are very happy and would recommend them to anyone. We would definitely use them again for any other jobs needed around our home. Thanks so much for making it a stress free experience.

We’d Made the Right Choice

Our experience with Hipco can be summed up in one word: fantastic! If you’re spending ages trying to find the right contractor for a solid conservatory roof, look no further. From our very first meeting with the sales representative to the final finishing touches, we had no doubt we’d made the right choice.

We were kept informed at every stage, what was happening, when, by whom, and what to expect. The team arrived on time, were friendly, and left everything tidy once the work was done. The quote we received was very competitive compared to other big names in Yorkshire.

Next time we have a home project, we won’t hesitate, we’ll go straight to Hipco. Thank you!

PTF Glass’s 30 years of run-time is one reason I chose them for my mum’s French doors.

Quality is another, as all their doors are made of strong uPVC components. That covers features like rust resistance, energy efficiency, durability, proper ventilation, customisability, and more!

I was also quoted reasonably and didn’t hang about for long. The product was good to go within a week (some claimed their wait was only two days!).

What’s the secret? Most of their goods are manufactured in-house. Clients can even request configs and sizes thanks to that perk.

Replies are also decent. It normally takes them around 48 hours to email back.

I’m not the biggest fan of weekend closure, though. It’s a proper snag for folks who can only drop by the showroom on Saturdays and Sundays.

They’re a family-run biz as well, so if you prefer bigger teams, that’s something to consider

Pros

  • Open for over 30 years
  • In-house manufacturing
  • Responds within 48 hours
  • Reasonable prices
  • Uses uPVC components

Cons

  • Smaller team
  • No weekend hours

Great Price

Good service at a great price. Would recommend. Now they have a review that’s more up to date. 👍

Happy to Answer All My Questions

Had a great experience with PTF glass. They gave us a reasonable quote for French doors and double glazed windows, and were happy to answer all my questions. I can’t fault the doors and windows provided, with my installer complimenting the quality. Quick timescales and kept us well updated throughout.

Express Bi-Folding Doors is massive! Anybody who’s been to their Leeds showroom will likely attest to that; it’s large enough to hold full house systems, mind you.

Sales assistants like Nicola and Chris only further incentivise in-person browsing. Beyond the good attitude, they know their products well and can help with decision-making.

That said, it’s still their French doors that won us over. Each piece is made using British aluminium, so they’re weather-resistant, durable, low-maintenance, elegant, and eco-friendly (but hey, if something goes awry, you have these handymen to call).

Every set can be customised as well. Bi-Folding covers 200-plus RAL colours and finishes, even satin and matte.

The catch is the pricing. It’s not exactly the cheapest in town.

Many also find their in-store service better than the one over the phone or email. From what we’ve heard, responses tend to be late, and some calls remain unreturned.

On a positive note, production lead times rarely take months.

Pros

  • Massive showroom
  • In-house manufacturing
  • Quick lead times
  • Around since 2007
  • Open daily

Cons

  • Occasional slow replies and unreturned calls
  • Pricing can get steep

Great Effort

After initial misunderstanding between after sales team and myself, company quickly identified solution and carry out tricky repair on aging doors. Big thanks to Geoff Clarkson (General Manager) and Gary Mardy (Installation Manager) who travelled from Leeds to Scotland to share his experience and resolve issue. Great effort👍

Happy with the Quality

Express Bifold Windows have just completed our installation. We now have the whole house windows and doors done by them. Jack Hunter was our sales executive and the installation was fitted by Keith and Des whose work ethic and attention to detail was second to none. We are completely happy with the quality and fitting.

Another tried-and-tested pick, Leeds Windows and Doors have 30 years in the trade. What’s more impressive, though, is their consistency in terms of results.

Clients often talk about getting the product they wanted, aesthetics- and durability-wise. Those we chatted with even brought up the efficient cleanup service (for more stubborn grime, though, these pressure-washing companies are the right choice).

Plus, you don’t have to hire external contractors for fitting needs. All their French doors are installed by an in-house team, which usually saves time and ensures steady quality.

If I had to pick a hitch, it would be the fact that they’re closed on the weekends.

Leeds Windows and Doors is also a smaller, family-run supplier without a vast showroom.

There are perks to that, though, and one of those is the personalised support. You’ll directly talk to the owner instead of salesmen, with the fair quotes sent out on the same day.

Besides, they’re CERTASS-certified, having met government-set standards.

Pros

  • Open for over 30 years
  • CERTASS-certified
  • Personalised support
  • Installation is done by an in-house team
  • Same-day and fair quotes

Cons

  • Smaller team
  • Weekend closure

Worked Quickly

Wayne and the team were great. Arrived on time, were polite and friendly and worked quickly. Also cleaned up after themselves! There was a slight issue with the glass for one of our windows but this was rectified very quickly by Wayne and the team. Would recommend.

If you’re looking for a supplier that specialises in uPVC French doors, Select Products is worth eyeballing.

In-swing and out-swing options are found here, all designed from Deceuninck 2800 (curved) and 2500 (chamfered/angular) profiles. Both are known for being energy-efficient, versatile, and durable.

Security is another benefit covered, as their goods are Secure by Design-approved. The accreditation is granted to systems that meet the UK police’s security standards.

The catch is the showroom. It isn’t anywhere as big as Hipco’s or Express Bi-Folding Doors’, so ‘feeling out’ their range can be hard.

We also suggest phoning them ahead for in-person visits. Sometimes, their hours of operation don’t quite line up, and that can lead to wasted drives.

Thankfully, the prices are competitive, with some clients even calling Select ‘cheaper than most.’

And did we mention they’ve been supplying folks with doors for over 20 years?

Pros

  • Specialises in uPVC French doors
  • Secure by Design-certified
  • Open on Saturdays
  • Competitive pricing
  • Around for over 20 years

Cons

  • Small showroom
  • Occasional inconsistent hours

Very Polite and Professional

No Fuss, No Mess and the fitters were very polite and professional.

The surveyor came the following day to rectify 2 very minor issues and the windows look great .

Extremely Helpful

Dale (fitter) was extremely helpful throughout the process and worked to a very high standard.

Many thanks to Select Products for a wonderful customer experience

Many thanks to Select Products for a wonderful customer experience. We recently had a Livin Roof installed by Mark and his team and the whole process, from original site visit to final inspection, has gone perfectly. Select Products even went above and beyond, helping out with a planning consents issue too. Our conservatory is now more of a garden room and allows us full use of it all year round — warm in the cold weather, comfortable in the heat. Fantastic product, professionally installed by a top team, highly recommended.
