Look like a million quid with the best headshot studios in Leeds!

Quality Portfolio: We can’t work with every studio in Leeds, so our team had to check numerous portfolios and social media posts. Only those with consistently polished and professional headshots got our attention.

Cutting-Edge Equipment: We visited and did our research to check if the studios use specialised gear, like Canon EOS R and Godox.

Professional Retouching: We picked studios well-versed in adjusting tones or erasing blemishes without making subjects look artificial. Client feedback and portfolio reviews played a major part.

Experience: This list only features studios with at least 3 years in the industry. Past projects and business registration records confirmed that for us.

Cost Efficiency and Transparency: Our choices will get you premium headshots without costing a fortune. In addition, you won’t deal with surprise payments that weren’t stated during the negotiation or quoting phase.

To verify both, we analysed pricing structures and did interviews concerning billing clarity and integrity.

Not to flex, but my headshots have always been eye-catching. Surprising, really, since in person, I’m hardly a vision of beauty.

My trick? Nothing fancy, just picking studios with ace equipment and photographers.

And before you ask, ‘Is looking good in a headshot worth the hassle?’ do note that potential business partners and employers check if you look the part. The same thing is true if you’re processing legal documents, where a credible, professional image is a must.

So, if you want a snap that’ll make the right people do a double-take (positively, of course), you’ve hit the jackpot. We rounded up Leeds’ top studios for headshots that can make anyone look like pure class.

How much do studios in Leeds charge for headshots?

Photography studios in Leeds typically charge £70–£75 for professional headshots. However, you should expect to pay up to £300 if you hire more experienced photographers or require more time in the studio.

Other factors affecting headshot fees include the shoot’s location, package type, and number of people to be photographed.

Aire Street Studio & Headshots has been my go-to for 2 years now, and that’s no blind patronage.

First off, the starting headshot package offers many perks beyond the shots. Sessions start with a 15-minute consultation, followed by 20 minutes of shooting time with free refreshments and fix-up equipment (mirrors, steamers, etc.) to boot.

The £95 price, though, is steeper than Leeds’ standard rates.

On the upside, Mark Wheelright, the photographer, is a proper talent. He has given me professional yet edgy shots—think expressive, sharp, and dramatic snaps that still have that ‘corporate polish.’

Mark is also patient and collaborative. Sessions don’t feel hurried, and he typically gives tips on poses/angles.

If there’s a big hitch, it’s the limited package number—just three for headshots. That said, there’s a special service for child actors, a nice touch for young talents.

Pros

  • Operating for 8+ years
  • Many inclusions (free refreshments, consultation, etc.)
  • Sessions don’t feel hurried
  • Edgy but professional style
  • Open daily
  • Easy to reach

Cons

  • Slightly steeper than Leeds’ rates
    Limited headshot package

Professional and Warm

‘I’ve never done a photoshoot before and I am rarely pleased with my image in photos or videos. I did the Quickfire Actor Headshots.

With Mark, I had a really nice time during the photoshoot; he made me feel at ease and natural and I think I look great on the pictures! Profesional and warm at the same time. I definitely recommend.

Many thanks Mark!’

– Daniel Velasco, Google Review

Personable

‘I’m not keen on having my photo taken, but needed some images for work purposes. Mark was excellent, he’s very personable and really put me at ease during the shoot; the whole experience was relaxed. I’m very happy with the resultant photos and would highly recommend his services.’

2. Jonny Kibble Photography

  • Mon to Sat – 9 am to 9 pm
  • Sun – 9 am to 5 pm

Crowned Headshot Photographer of the Year (2024/2025) by Yorkshire Prestige Awards, Jonny Kibble is a top pick if you value laurels.

That’s not to say he’s just all plaques. For one, Jonny’s packages are comprehensive. The £150 silver deal, for instance, gets you an hour, three outfit changes, and three images.

Price-wise, that’s the usual fee for a 60-minute shoot, so you’re not getting overcharged.

Another thing we like is that Jonny provides detailed pre-shoot coaching. He discusses crucial tips that’ll get you head-turning pics, such as which food or drink to stay away from days before your shoot.

Moreover, Jonny is flexible. You’re free to display your personality or take the creative reins; he’ll just fine-tune angles or lighting.

The snag is you can’t privately hire his studio as of April 2025. Plus, the £150 starting fee might be costly for those not after a 1-hour shoot, as there’s no cheaper alternative.

Pros

  • Prestige Photographer of the Year Award (2024/2025)
  • Comprehensive packages
  • Offers pre-shoot guides
  • Friendly
  • Open daily
  • Flexible style
  • Offers refund
  • Collaborative

Cons

  • Studio not available for private hire
  • No budget-friendly alternative for quick shoots

Simply Outstanding

‘I absolutely love my pictures! Jonny did an incredible job and made me feel completely at ease in his studio. He guided me through various poses, capturing over 100 shots. The results were everything I hoped for – simply outstanding!’

– Simons Cat, Google Review

Warm and Friendly

‘I booked in with Jonny last week for some new headshots and he really was great. He has such a warm and friendly personality and instantly puts you at ease from the moment you arrive. I’m really happy with my new shots! Thank you :)’

Roth Read Photography ticks our experience box, having been in operation since 2016, with a focus on business portraits and headshots. The studio’s photographers, Lincoln and Perrin, have also snagged the Prestige Photographer of the Year award (2023/2024).

One of their defining features is bespoke packages. Sessions start with a detailed and free consultation; the aim is to figure out what your headshots will be about. From there, they’ll tailor a shoot to your target ‘vibes,’ style, or branding.

We also gave them extra marks for providing optimisation tips, particularly advice on how to pick photos for SEO needs. That’s game-changing for both employees and business owners who use websites.

That said, turnaround with them isn’t the quickest. You’ll usually get your headshots after a week.

Also, all shoots are done by the duo, which might not suit those who prefer a more intimate, single-photographer session.

Pros

  • Operating since 2016
  • Prestige Photographer of the Year Award (2023/2024)
  • Bespoke packages
  • Studio is open for hire
  • Can travel anywhere
  • Free consultation and quotes
  • Offers optimisation tips

Cons

  • Slow turnaround
  • No single-photography sessions

Every Part Was Perfection

‘Lincoln and Perrin are truly amazing photographers. From the first concept meeting where I discussed the fantasy element to the photos. Every part was perfection. Both of them are super lovely and really invested in making sure my vision came to life, they came to meet my husband so he wouldn’t be uncomfortable and on the day they let him look more at the technical side to feel more relaxed. They helped find a venue for me and I feel like I’ve become friends with them. They honestly care about your vision and will do everything to make you happy. I cannot recommend them enough and I’ve already got other photo shoots lined up.’

– The Contented Narrative, Google Review

Professional, Intuitive, and Exceptionally Talented

‘Roth Read Photography are true storytellers through their visuals. Their ability to capture emotion, atmosphere, and personality in every frame is nothing short of incredible. At Thicket Priory, they didn’t just take photos, they created a narrative, bringing together moments that felt authentic and full of life. Their approach to personal branding is equally impressive, bringing out individuality and essence in a way that feels natural yet impactful. Professional, intuitive, and exceptionally talented. Highly recommend.’

Most of my teammates swear by Richard Wilson Photography, and that’s fair play. Their 24 years of experience alone is worth noting.

Moreover, we know they’re doing right with those big names on their client list, including Google and British Gas.

As for packages, their starter sessions last for 45 minutes. The resulting pics, as displayed in their portfolio, are stylised but professional, with Richard and his team conducting thorough interviews to personalise the shoot.

However, we think the £195 fee is a bit high for a non-hour shoot. You’ll also have to deal with Sunday closures; most names here are open daily.

The silver lining is that you’ll get 50 pics to choose from—coloured, B&W, high-end, the works. Unlimited outfit swaps are part of the deal, too, as long as the session allows for it.

Lastly, they do things casually, resulting in relaxed, often humorous shoots.

Pros

  • Operating for over 24 years
  • Established clientele
  • Unlimited outfit changes
  • Free quotes
  • Sends 50 pics
  • Relaxed atmosphere
  • Fully insured
  • Offers studio hire

Cons

  • Relatively pricey for a 45-minute shoot
  • Sunday closure

Professional, Flexible

‘For our project, we needed a photographer in the Leeds area. He was refered to us from one of our collaborating brands. Working with Richard was great! He was professional, flexible and understood our brief. He also had experience with the brands we were working with so understood challenges of project. I would be very happy to use Richard again or recommend him to others.’

– Rhys Jones, Google Review

His Work Is Top-Tier

‘We hired Richard Wilson to photograph our fleet of coaches and buses, and the results were outstanding! Richard’s expertise in capturing vehicles in their best light is truly impressive. He perfectly highlighted the details and professionalism of our fleet, making the images look both striking and professional.

Throughout the process, Richard was punctual, professional, and easy to work with. He knew exactly how to position the vehicles to capture the best angles and made the whole shoot run smoothly. The quality of the final photos was exceptional, showcasing our fleet exactly how we envisioned. I highly recommend Richard Wilson Photography for any commercial photography needs—his work is top-tier!’

Operating Hours: Mon to Fri – 9:30 am to 5:30 pm

Nearly everyone we chatted with hyped up Jemma of JMA Photography’s artistic eye. After peeping at her portfolio, we get it.

We’ll describe her shots as ‘playfully professional.’ The lighting is crisp, the colours pop boldly, and the poses are dynamic. Studying Visual Studies in Photography at art school gives you that edge.

Clients also love how she makes things easy, especially the camera-shy ones we interviewed. According to them, she’s accommodating and sociable.

Jemma keeps you involved, too. Before the final edits, you’ll get a batch of drafts to give your say on.

As for clientele, she works with established companies beyond individuals and SMEs. In fact, some of her shots are featured in The Yorkshire Evening Post.

The setback is that she closes shop on weekends. If that’s your only free time, there are better picks above.

She’s also in high demand, so better ring ahead.

Pros

  • Operating since 2008
  • Playful shots
  • Sends drafts
  • Easy to work with
  • Works with any company size
  • Studied Visual Studies in Photography

Cons

  • Can get packed
    Weekend closure

Incredible Person to Work

‘Jemma, does our photography for our annual conference at the Leeds Playhouse. Jemma, possesses incredible photography skills but is also an incredible person to work with, we have booked Jemma 3 times now and will be booking again on the next one!’

– Adam Rush, Google Review

Brilliant Photographer

‘Jemma worked with me and the whole team during the whole of LEEDS 2023 Year of Culture. She was a brilliant photographer who really captured the essence and spirit of our diverse events programme, as well as the spirit of the artists and communities participating in them. I highly recommend her – she is flexible, accommodating and has a superb artistic eye.’
